Given that this community is meant to share PR News, I wanted to post this here.


IT IS CONFIRMED

Disney sold Power Rangers back to Saban and Saban will present new episodes in 2011 on Nickelodeon. There are twenty confirmed episodes and I've heard rumors of a movie as well.

A casting call went out. And they're for sure doing the Samurai Sentai that aired last Sentai season, so they're going to be working, for once, from a completely aired season. Which will make storyline changes less of a problem. (Like in DT, Devin was being primed to become the Triassic Ranger until the footage showed that it was a Red Ranger power-up.)

Also, Nick is going to be re-running all the previous seasons as well. I haven't heard if they're going to use Disney's "remastered" season, but I have hope that they'll leave it alone.

Considering how ashamed Haim Saban was in some of his quotes about this whole thing over how Disney had handled the franchise, I'd bet my ass that the reruns of Nicktoons (the new PR season will air on normal Nick) will be pristine originals.

Yes please, I wanted to cry when I saw the butchering that went into the Green Ranger episodes.
